Creative Friday...

Play silks are ready to be gifted to my dear Lil' tomorrow for her 3rd time around the sun.

I like them, although the colors are a bit bright. I found some very beautiful ones  hand dyed ones but I just had this dye and decided to use it. The next ones I make will be dyed only from plants.

One for the sun and one for the moon.

Birthday crown in progress...

I am going to knit a band for the back so that it can be worn. I had better stop blogging and get to work!

Moments From My Busy Week...

The beginnings of a tiny doll sweater for the doll I am making Lily for her birthday (more on that in a later post).
I'm using leftover yarn!

Lately I have really been liking the look of a crocheted border on my knitting projects.

Dying yarn for the doll. She will be fair haired.

Dying play silks for Lily's birthday next Saturday.

I had a request to make peanut butter and jelly (in tiny jars for tiny hands).

Crocheted gnome hat. I think it looks a bit like a pine cone.

Preparing to make apple "everything!"

A bit of snuggling and many colorful stories.
New bedroom furniture!

Happy Birthday Moon!!!

Today is Mabon. We celebrate the second harvest of the earth's abundance. It is also said to be the moon's birthday! Moon flowers are said to fall from the sky and if one of these flowers land on you, you will be blessed with great abundance. I hope that happens to every one of you today and all of your children as well!!!

Striped Blanket....

I mentioned that I had been working on a special project for someone and I got it done today in the nick of time!!!
I used Cascade Super Wash 100% wool in these two colors.

I thought they were just right for a new little boy. The camera really never captures the color just right though.

I worked on this blanket tirelessly for two weeks. I took it wherever I went except for work :)

I wasn't able to block it before I gave it as a gift but I'm sure  it will be even nicer after a few washes. I knit on straight needles with this one. NOT my favorite way to knit but I'd lent my sister a pair of circulars as I'm now teaching her to knit. She is expecting as well!!! I love when there is a new baby around.
I did a simple crocheted edge. I love the wavy look it gives. I  hope it was well received because it was a lot of work! And I enjoyed every minute of it. Blessings to the new baby and Mama!

{Keep Calm Craft On}

I finally finished this round of gnomes. The one in the center is my Oma gnome. Because every gnome has to have a wise Nana!

The outfits make great finger puppets too!
I gave these cute little dolls to my girls as a little gift today. Just because!
I made these gnomes a few weeks ago (except the lavender one which I made today) and I finished adding the hair this afternoon. I cannot yet post about the big project I am working on because it's a gift and I don't want to give away the surprise! What are you working on?

Keeping Calm Craft On.... Lil's Woolens

I added a little more to the waist because at first, the pants were too low on the hips.

She seems to like like them!

Just the right fit for underpants!
Today's KCCO is a pair of knitted woolens I've been working on. Almost done! I just need to hide all the ends. I used my leftover Malabrigo Worsted in Brilliante and Kalidos. What do you think?

Stitchin' Britches......

This one has nothing to do with knitting but I took it at the library with the girls. They are so silly!
