Work In Progress....Striped Sweater Vest.

This sweater is giving me such a headache! I've had to take it off the needles twice already. I am giving myself a break and starting another project. Maybe I'll pick it back up in a day or two. I am using a wool/bamboo blend which is so soft but I'm worried it wont come out quite as nicely as plain wool.

The High Park Fire.

I have never witnessed a wildfire this close before. The mountains where I've grown up, hiked, camped, lived, picked wildflowers in, gazed at the lights of the city from, this place that I love so dearly is burning! I am very saddened by this. Yes, it is part of life but it's sad to see. All I can say is that I'll pray for the folks who have already or are in danger of loosing their homes and ask that you pray too.

Gnome Sweet Home!

Far away, nestled under a happy old oak tree, there lived a family of gnomes........ (:

Papa Gnome built the house with his bare hands. He made sure the home had everything that a family of gnomes would need. A pail for pulling up to the 2nd floor and lowering back down.

A place to sleep, a lookout, and a pinwheel to catch the wind.

A comfy place to sit and enjoy a acorn muffin and a hot cup af lavender tea.

A little stove complete with pots and pans and a mop to tidy up.

A stair to get to bed when the sun turns red and sets below the mountains,
Finally finished and ready to be gifted to my niece. I don't have time to take it out side to photograph because the party is in an hour!!! Lets hope she likes it. What do you think? Would you like this if you were a young child?

Gnome Home In Progress...

Not much to it yet...

The inside.

Painting the lookout rainbow.

Painting the steps rainbow.....

Adding a few decorations to bump up the charm....
This is what I've been working on this weekend when I get a minute here and there. Tomorrow it will be gifted to my niece for her birthday. What do you think so far?

Re-purposed Summer Skirts!

I couldn't let go of this cute fabric. I am so glad it found a new purpose!

These should be perfect for lounging around the house in on the weekends or as pajama bottoms!

This  might look cute with a pair of bloomers.

This dress was my favorite! Clean and simple.
Today was busy but after I got my little ladies all tuckered out, cleaned up, teeth brushed, and off to bed, I took some old dresses that the littlest wore last year and made them into skirts. Cost was $1.59 for elastic. Not bad for 5 new skirts! Maybe tomorrow I can get a few pictures of her wearing them! Fingers crossed!!! What have you been working on? Anyone have a cute bloomer pattern?

Our spring nature table...

My sweet girl did all the decorating for the nature table. I love when she gets a good idea and just goes to it!

A sweet potato vine, still just a baby. They make beautiful house plants.
Flowers gathered from long walks in the woods.

Cloth diaper gymnastics...

Studying found objects.

My eldest daughter was so proud of her decorating she asked me to share it. She requested that she take the pictures as well. I'm not big on the kiddos using computers but for creativity's sake I suppose it's ok here and there.

Gnome Knits..

My first knitted gnome outfits. I was a bit sloppy with sewing the capes on and I'm not sure I'm happy with them. This photo is not the best either but my niece liked them!

Grandmother's Garden..

Setting the ladies free. Lily and Breezy were excited. Savi wasn't quite as excited. Not a bug fan.
This sweet little girl  is my niece. She just began her 7 th time around the sun this last Thursday!
Lady bugs, lady bugs, Fly away home!

Lil' trying out the garden beds for a balance beam.

Red leaf: my absolute favorite green!

Does lettuce make your mouth water?

Because it does mine!

I wish I could capture this color purple inside a sun catcher.

Rainbow chard: my other favorite green!

These were my mama's favorite. She loved the slight purple hues. My mama past last July. How I miss her.

Will these strawberries turn before the children eat them? Did you know that a strawberry isn't actually a berry at all?

My sister's favorite. (I actually have 3 sisters and 3 brothers)

My favorite.

The children's favorite.
Today we spent the entire day in my grandmother's garden. I got to see my 2 nieces and my great-grandmother who we call " Oma ". I adore her! She moved in with my grandmother about a year or so ago which has been wonderful because my grandmothers are both in one place! My Oma is the sweetest person I've ever met and I love her so! I enjoyed her company so much! I love her stories about when she was little and to hear how life was back when she was a mama. She had 7 children of her own! How amazing to be able to have 7 children! What a blessing that would be! After a nice cup of coffee with the ladies, it was out into the garden to teach the girls about where our food comes from, looking for fairies and freeing a batch of ladybugs into the veggie patch. There were ladybugs everywhere! On shirts, on noses, in hair! Oh what a fabulous day!
